Adding more raw food to your diet doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are 7 EASY ways in eat more raw food to improve your health and lose weight. In the past I have tended towards the more gourmet raw food recipes. I have many such raw recipes here on this site. But I’m interested in making things easier for myself at this point.
I just completed a 30 day fruit fast and discovered 1) how easy it was, 2) how great I felt, 3) that I enjoy eating fruit and it can easily make a meal! Now I’m planning to keep eating a good deal of raw without all the more complicated recipes for the most part. These are the things I am doing.
1: All Fruit Meal. A large fruit salad or fruit plate is tasty, satisfying and filling. I feel energized and ready to tackle my day. Here’s a hearty fruit salad I love. Adding fresh fruit as a side to cooked meals also reduces the amount of cooked food I eat and ups the raw.
2: Smoothies. I’m sure you probably already have included smoothies into your diet. They are a fantastic way to include fruit and greens into menu. They are filling and easy to take on the go. Here’s my suggestions for building the perfect smoothie.
3: Incorporate Avocado/Guacamole. Either can be a meal in itself or is a great way to increase the raw content of cooked meals. Along with some pate, (see below) you can make a filling raw food meal.
4: Marinated Veggies. This recipe goes back to my childhood, long before I knew anything about plant-based diets. There are many different varieties you can create. Check out the recipe here.
5: Nut or Seed Paté. Pate can really expand your creative options without a lot of work or need for fancy gadgets. All you need is a food processor. By using seasonings that are found in international foods you can create spreads, fillings, topping for a wide variety of dishes. Make a taco “meat.” A “tuna” salad. Fill an avocado half. Top a salad. And more. Here’s the pate recipe.
6: Dessert!! One of my favorite things about raw desserts is how EASY and quick they can be. Imagine delicious brownies ready to eat in 15 minutes!
7: Take Salads To The Next Level. If you think lettuce and tomato when you think salad, think again! There are SOO many amazing salads that you can easily eat a salad everyday and not have to eat the same thing twice for weeks! Here’s 34 amazing salad recipes to get you started.
So as you can see increasing your raw food intake doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive or require fancy equipment. And your body will thank you for the healing properties and increased nutrients.
