As I’ve been talking to people who are new vegans or considering becoming vegan, one concern I’ve heard is about eating organic. Not everyone can afford organic, nor does everyone have access to organic produce. They wonder, is it safe to eat vegan if they have to eat “congenitally” grown produce?
The answer is YES! While it’s better to eat organic of course you’re still getting less pesticides and other toxins even if you aren’t eating organic. In this video I explain why.
Some produce is worse than others. Each year the Environmental Working Group puts out a guide to the most toxic produce and those that tend to have less pesticides used on them. So even if you can’t get organic you can make wise decisions about which things to avoid or limit. Here’s the link to EWG’s guide for 2017
