Where Do Vegans Get Their Protein?

Dr. Opare Answers This Often Heard Question
Dr. Opare Answers This Often Heard Question

One of the questions vegans and vegetarians hear the most is “Where do you get your protein?” It seems the meat and dairy association has done an excellent job convincing us that without meat in our diet we will certainly not get enough protein.

This is a GREAT BIG LIE! In fact most folks eat TOO MUCH protein and this had negative effects on our health. Dr. Opare always says protein is the LAST thing you need to worry about.

Here is a segment from our Conscious Vegan class where he talks about protein, why we don’t need to worry.

Do you have a question about vegetarian/veganism and nutrition that you would like to have Dr. Opare answer? Post it in the comment section.

I am new to the Raw Vegan way of life.. In the recent past my diet was a Lectin Free and eating sea food… I am not a big eater at all. I am lucky if I away a second meal in a day… I eat very small portions due to a number of chronic stomach issues… Since I have been eating Raw Vegan, I no longer have nausea and vomiting. I still have to take a prescription to have regular bowel movements.

My concern is not getting enough nutrients in because I am a very small eater. What should I do? Should I supplement with Raw Vegan Protein Powder? What should a daily basic meal plan look like for me?

    Please advise,

    Sjana

    1. Sjana, thanks for reaching out. This is not an easy question to answer. It does sound like you are making progress. It sounds like you need to speak to Dr. Opare or another doctor who is supportive of and very knowledgable about plant-based diets. Most doctors do NOT know about plant-based diets or about the power of healing with food.
