The Truth About Getting Enough Protein As A Vegan (Stop Worrying!)

No matter if you’re new to the plant-based lifestyle or if you’ve been eating vegan for years there’s a strong likelihood that you may be concerned about getting enough protein. The media and even the vegan community certainly helps keep that worry front and center. In this video I’m sharing the truth about getting enough protein on a vegan diet or plant-based diet so you can stop worrying! I share what protein is, and why “complete” proteins and animal proteins are not what your body actually needs or wants.

Despite years of research about how much protein we actually need and what is the best way to get it, the myths and misinformation are still rampant. I see recipes and articles all the time talking about high protein meals and the need to be sure you’re getting enough. This is part of a bigger problem that I discuss in my Decolonizing Nutrition video. There’s too much money to be made by keeping us worried and confused so we are fed a constant stream of misinformation.

It’s time we liberate our minds from that garbage!

The truth is really simple! In all the years I’ve been eating a vegan diet this truth has freed me from concerning myself with protein. Instead I focus on eating whole foods. Real food! That’s it! But you don’t need to believe me. Here’s some recourses you can check out for yourself.
